The mission of Sunnyside Elementary School is to educate all students to their fullest potential, provide a sound foundation of academic skills and subjects, and prepare all students for lifelong learning, with individual accountability and respect for others, in a positive, challenging, and safe learning environment through the cooperation of parents, teachers, and the community.

Home of the Falcons
The faculty and staff of Sunnyside Elementary believe that nothing is more important than giving a child the best education possible. They believe the elementary school years are the most important years for children to develop academic, social, and physical skills that will be used throughout a child’s life. The dedicated teachers and staff at Sunnyside Elementary have committed themselves to provide children with a nurturing environment where they can not only learn and grow but excel. Sunnyside Elementary is an excellent school, with strong parent and community support. Teachers, school staff, students, parents and others in the community work closely together creating a solid foundation of academic knowledge for students as they progress through elementary school and prepare for junior high school. Sunnyside students perform exceptionally well on state and district tests and assessments. Sunnyside Elementary serves students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. Kindergarten is a half-day program and students attend either a morning session or an afternoon session. In addition, 1st-6th grade all have traditional one-grade classrooms. Regardless of the class setting, all teachers at Sunnyside are committed to differentiating the learning experience for students to help each individual grow to his or her potential.
